General Foreman – Process Piping / Mechanical

Location: Okmulgee, Oklahoma
Company: Kelso Southwest
Project: Mission-Critical / Data Center Construction

Position Summary

Kelso Southwest is seeking an experienced General Foreman – Process Piping / Mechanical to support a large mission-critical construction project in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

This is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for directing mechanical and process-piping crews, coordinating daily work activities, maintaining productivity and quality, and ensuring work is performed safely and according to project plans and specifications.

The ideal candidate has significant experience with commercial/industrial process piping, hydronic systems, underground piping, fusion welding, and welded piping systems and has successfully led craft teams on large, fast-paced construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of foremen, pipefitters, welders, helpers, and other mechanical craft personnel.

  • Plan manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain production schedules.

  • Coordinate process-piping and mechanical installation with the Superintendent and project management team.

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, spool drawings, and installation details.

  • Oversee installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and HDPE/poly piping systems.

  • Support work involving TIG welding, orbital welding, fusion welding, and high-purity/process piping systems.

  • Coordinate underground piping activities, including excavation, trenching, shoring, and material handling.

  • Monitor crew productivity and identify field issues before they impact schedule.

  • Ensure installations meet project quality requirements and applicable codes and standards.

  • Conduct daily pre-task planning/JHAs and reinforce safe work practices with field crews.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, system turnover, and completion of punch-list items.

  • Maintain accurate daily field documentation, manpower reporting, and production tracking.

  • Mentor foremen and craft employees while maintaining accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and workmanship.

  • Work closely with other trades and project leadership to resolve field conflicts and maintain project schedule.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical/process-piping construction experience preferred.

  • 3+ years of field leadership experience as a General Foreman, Foreman, or comparable position.

  • Strong knowledge of process piping, hydronic piping, underground piping, and welded piping systems.

  • Experience with multiple piping materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and HDPE/poly.

  • Working knowledge of TIG welding, orbital welding, and fusion-welding applications.

  • Experience supervising self-perform mechanical construction crews.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and fabrication/spool drawings.

  • Strong understanding of manpower planning, productivity, sequencing, and field coordination.

  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching, shoring, rigging, lifting, and construction safety requirements.

  • OSHA 30 preferred.

  • Experience on data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical projects strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization where project needs and priorities may change.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a field leader, not simply a senior pipefitter. This individual should be comfortable directing multiple crews, planning work ahead, holding teams accountable, solving field problems, and working closely with project leadership while remaining highly engaged with the craft in the field.

Experience leading wet mechanical/process-piping scopes on large mission-critical or advanced-manufacturing projects will be particularly valuable.
