Assistant Project Manager – Tulsa Data Center

Position Summary
Kelso Southwest is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the execution of a major data center project in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The APM will work closely with project and field leadership to coordinate documentation, procurement, scheduling, cost tracking, and day-to-day project execution.
The ideal candidate has experience in commercial or industrial mechanical construction, with exposure to piping, HVAC, process piping, or other self-perform mechanical scopes. Data center or mission-critical experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project planning and execution.

Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, and project documentation.

Assist with procurement, material tracking, equipment deliveries, and long-lead items.

Track project schedules, milestones, costs, and progress.

Coordinate with superintendents, project engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trade partners.

Help identify field conflicts, schedule impacts, and project risks and drive timely resolution.

Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate action items and follow-up.

Assist with cost reporting, forecasting, billing, and change management.

Maintain communication between project management and field teams.

Support project closeout, punch-list activities, turnover documentation, and commissioning requirements.
Qualifications

2–5+ years of construction project experience, preferably with a mechanical contractor.

Experience with commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction.

Knowledge of HVAC, piping, process piping, hydronic, or related mechanical systems preferred.

Data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or similar project experience is a plus.

Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, scheduling, and cost tracking.

Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with both project-management and field teams in a fast-paced environment.
